5 Things that made me smile today….:)

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , at 2:54 pm by charlesshyblosky

  • I got to spend some time with this guy today.  WOW, what a testimony and passion for the kingdom of Heaven.  “God is GOOD, ALL THE TIME”  Watch it HERE!
  • This blog, on UT Sports.  I read alot of UT sites, but this one keeps me rolling…Today was no exception.
  • 4 students accepted Christ for the first time, last night at Switch.  How cool is that…….
  • We played this game, last night, that envolved eating liquid popcorn butter, all three of them puked.  I think thats a record for most hurling in one game..
  • Los, at Ragamuffinsoul.com, had a blog post, ‘I hate it when my worship leader……”  you fill in the blank.   Some of the comments made throw up in my mouth (not really).  See if you resonate with any of them HERE……

Monday Morning Madness

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:20 am by charlesshyblosky

  • sweetsixteen.jpgWhat a tournament so far.  The Vols beat American, and then a spirited Butler team, to advance on to the Sweet Sixteen.  They did all this without any real sign of a point guard, but i’m thinking JP Prince(6 turnovers vs Butler), once given a chance to feel more comfortable, will be the PG of the future, no time though, we’ve got bigger fish to fry, bring on Louisville, and then probably UNC.   I like our matchup vs the Cardinals.
  • At Lifechurch.tv we had our Baptism Bash (rubber duckies and all) and we started a  brand new series, The Warrior.  It was amazing, and Craig touched on several hot issues, such as how some churches emasculate men.
  •  Emasculate: to deprive of strength, vigor, or spirit : weaken 2 : to deprive of virility or procreative power : castrate
  • My last church had such frou frou things scattered about, even the furniture looked feminine.  Craig touched on how typical Mother’s day sermons are usually positive and speak of how awesome our women are, while Father’s Day sermons are usually an opportunity to tell men how they really should act, and what they are doing wrong.  Is this true in your experiences?  (Leave me a comment)
  • No Switch this week, due to Spring Break.
  • Romans 8:32     He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

  • Next Sunday’s Title, “The Wounded Warrior”.  I can’t wait!

Monday Morning Musings…

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 12:01 pm by charlesshyblosky

  •  My verse for the week:

  • 1 Cor 15:58   Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

  • Do you ever feel like your labor for the Lord is in vain?  leave me a comment.

  • How about the Vols.  We rapped up our first SEC Basketball Title in 40 years, and did so with a 30 point victory yesterday versus SC.  Wow, Pearl has this team focused and ready for SEC tourney play.  I wish I could go down to the ATL on Friday for the second round games.

  • I got to go to the SEC women’s tournament in Nashville (see pic), with this guy.  How about those Lady Vols, upsetting the LSU Tiger-ettes.  Fowles is amazing, CP3 (candace parker) is even better.

  • 5 students accepted Christ last Wednesday at Switch, and I get to speak again this week, no pressure, I hear a special guest will be in attendance.

  • We had 3 inches of snow, in Nashville over the weekend, and it was ALL GONE, by noon on Sunday.  You gotta love the weather here.

One more day till the Big Game..UT-Memphis

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:45 am by charlesshyblosky

bruceleft.jpgThis is all you here when you turn on the radio, even here in Nashville.  This thing is almost to a fever pitch for tomorrow nights game.  Its a first for UT, most likely not the last as long as Pearl is around.  If you have turned on a tv to ESPN or read anything about sports on the net, then you have heard about the game on Saturday. Great publicity is going into this epic battle.  This is more than just a fight for rankings. It’s a battle for state bragging rights. East versus West.  Only 4 times in college basketball history has the #1 and #2 teams played in a game from the same state, twice in Ohio and twice in North Carolina.  ESPN’s College Gameday will be live from the FedEx Forum at 10am Central. Dick Vitale and Erin Andrews will be there for the game. It’s going to be awesome baby! (In my best Dick Vitale impression) Chris Lofton vs Chris Douglas Roberts. Ramar Smith vs Derrick Rose. JaJuan Smith vs Antonio Anderson. Tyler Smith vs Robert Dozier. Wayne Chism vs Joey Dorsey. Bruce Pearl vs John Calipari. Volunteers vs Tigers.   Govols..

Prayers and thoughts for the Tornado Victims

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , at 12:01 pm by charlesshyblosky

  • The tornado sirens were enough to freak alot of people out. I don’t know many people that got a full nights rest.  I think I got about 2 hours of sleep.
  • Kind of made for a restless game to watch, UT pounded UF badly, trying to enjoy the game between frequent updates from the wifey, via text msgs.
  • I can’t believe the damage, and even more disturbing the loss of life here.
  • This story, on Pam Whitaker, brought tears to my eyes.
  • art_whitaker_cnn.jpgWatch the Video of her explaining what happened, HERE.
  • Looks like my Church’s Mission Trip to New Orleans, is being switched to do it HERE, in our own County, for Spring break.
  • Please continue to pray for Pam, and the countless other victims of the recent storms.  Its a sad day.
