Prayers and thoughts for the Tornado Victims

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , at 12:01 pm by charlesshyblosky

  • The tornado sirens were enough to freak alot of people out. I don’t know many people that got a full nights rest.  I think I got about 2 hours of sleep.
  • Kind of made for a restless game to watch, UT pounded UF badly, trying to enjoy the game between frequent updates from the wifey, via text msgs.
  • I can’t believe the damage, and even more disturbing the loss of life here.
  • This story, on Pam Whitaker, brought tears to my eyes.
  • art_whitaker_cnn.jpgWatch the Video of her explaining what happened, HERE.
  • Looks like my Church’s Mission Trip to New Orleans, is being switched to do it HERE, in our own County, for Spring break.
  • Please continue to pray for Pam, and the countless other victims of the recent storms.  Its a sad day.

  1. Kari said,

Wow, what a truly inspirational woman Pam is. I have just listened to her speak on the CNN news about these bad storms. She seemed more concerned about the people at the hospital than she did about the fact that she has just lost everything she ever owned. What a selfless and caring woman – it is so refreshing to see this high level of humanity and I wish her the very best concerning these resent events and that she recovers fully from all this. God bless you richly Pam…

  2. Thanks Kari. Its never easy, dealing with unexpected disaster. From what I’m hearing, Federal assistance is coming.

  3. I spoke with Pam recently and she is not doing very well. She recently had a heart attack which she attributes to the stress she has experienced since the tornado. This stress was compounded because she was all set to move into a FEMA trailer (with her mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease), when she was told by FEMA that since she had obtained temporary housing in the meantime since applying for the FEMA trailer, that she was no longer eligible. I wrote an article about her ordeals that was published on the Op-Ed News website. Here is a link to the article:

  4. I filled out an application nominating this heroic woman to receive an Extreme Makeover / Home Edition. If you feel she would be deserving of this, please write to the producers of this ABC show at the address below and express your support for Pam and her mother:

    Lock & Key Productions

    C/O Family Casting

    P.O. Box 38670

    Los Angeles, CA 90038

I have such tremendous admiration for Ms. Whitaker for her selfless grace under pressure. She is an inspiration to me and many others.

This woman deserves to be treated so much better than she has been by our government and its inefficient and ineffective agencies that were INTENDED to help disaster victims.
