Fun game, minus the rain in the first half…’Dores WIN!! I was hoping to catch Spurrier throw his visor, but wasn’t rewarded with it, though he had many opportunities to do so. I’m a big fan of Thursday night games, and it was cool to see Vandy get the exposure, rather than two team I care nothing about. Looks like VANDY sits alone atop the SEC EAST….Who would have thought???

Its about time: NFL OKs churches showing Super Bowl on big screens

The NFL will allow church groups to show the Super Bowl on large-screen televisions, reversing a policy that drew criticism from elected officials.
In a letter to U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will no longer object to “live showings — regardless of screen size — of the Super Bowl” by religious organizations, The Washington Post reported.
An earlier story in The Post about church groups canceling Super Bowl parties over fear of legal action by the NFL led to protest by some lawmakers and conservative leaders.
At the center of the issue is an NFL policy which holds that organizations showing public viewings of its games on televisions larger than 55 inches violate the league’s copyright. Sports bars are exempt from the policy, but last year, the NFL sent letters to two church groups, advising them of the rule, according to The Post.
In its letter to Hatch, the NFL said it would not object to big-screen viewings in churches as long as they are free and held on premises that the church uses on a “routine and customary” basis, according to the report.

A long drive, but worth the Beatdown…
So, after a 4 day layover in Oklahoma to visit the inlaws, I traveled to Phoenix, for a nice Sunburn, and a fantastic game (depending who you rooted on). WVU played inspired and with fire, it showed. The game was never really in doubt, as OU had no answers for the Spread Option. Perhaps more big 12 teams will run it now. WVU even got a new coach out of the deal. I got to visit a few Sister churches while in OKC. I got to visit Trevor and the South OKC Campus of Lifechurch.tv on saturday, and Lifechurch.tv OKC on Sunday. Halftime: Titans v. Jets.. overlooking downtown
Not a creature was stirring, downtown that is, as the Titans slugged it out with Chad Pennington and the Jets. You got to love it when it all comes down to the final game of the season. I got to witness Vanden Bosch and Haynesworth as they came through Big Time. Only one more win, and we are in the playoffs….. I hope Mr. Manning and the Colts decide to mail this one in…put the women and children to bed, because this could be a barn-burner…
